PGT® Raising Funds, Collecting Clothing to Benefit Child Protection Center

(Venice, Florida)—PGT Industries (www.pgtindustries.com), the nation’s leading supplier of impact-resistant windows, is helping to recognize April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month by raising funds and collecting children’s clothing to benefit the Child Protection Center (www.cpcsarasota.org). To raise funds, PGT will be having an employee chili cook off on March 22 and a bake sale on April 19. In addition, PGT will be collecting children’s clothes in April. Drop off your donations at the PGT lobby, 1070 Technology Drive, North Venice, Florida. (Look for the banner outside the office that reads: “April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. PGT and CPC: Together We Can Make Difference.”)

“The rationale behind our involvement with the Child Protection Center is, of course, community involvement and giving back,” says Debbie LaPinska, vice president, sales and marketing, PGT. “But the selection of that particular organization is based on providing protection, much like our impact window products, to those who need it.”

Established in 1980, CPC’s mission is child abuse prevention, intervention and treatment. CPC envisions a community in which children are safe from abuse and free to thrive. This program works together with the Department of Children and Families and Law Enforcement in the investigation of child abuse cases and also coordinates community-wide services for affected children.

The public is welcome to attend the Child Protection Center's Open House, which will be held on March 30, from 8-11:30 a.m., at 2210 S. Tamiami Trail, Suite A, Venice, Fla.

Listed on NASDAQ, PGT is one of the largest employers in Sarasota County and a pioneer of impact-resistant windows and doors.
